Makiko Tanaka 

Inspired by the expressions of women passing by on the streets of Paris, Makiko Tanaka began making portraits of the Parisiennes she encountered one piece a day soon after arriving Paris. Her motif shifted from “faces” to “objects” in her surroundings, then from “chinaware” to “chinaware with something inside”, like soup, which marked the beginning of her “food” series. The dynamic mix of various cultures and their cuisine in Paris continues to inspire Makiko to paint her joyful and delicious paintings every day.
